Blue Mountains

Well decided last minute on Saturday that was in need of some much needed fresh air and a trip up the mountains . After some last minute packing of the Sleeping bags, air mattresses , hiking boots and the rest of the camping gear on Saturday night we tried to get some sleep.
Managed to wake up at 6 on a Sunday and we headed off at 7.
We reached leura before 9 and after some more coffee ruthie and I headed to Govetts leap to start the walk . We walked down Rodriguez pass a descent of 760 mtrs under Bridal veil falls and into the Grose valley, after some stopping to take photos we reached junction rock at 1pm then decided to walk back out the same way . After a few Km's back to Bridal Veil falls then some 905 steps up Rodriguez pass we finally reached the car and the chance to take the hiking boots off ( there is no better feeling ) .
The next day we walked out to Hanging rock, a 10km round trip along fire trail. Hanging rock is spectacular and one of the best things is there is no crowds. Being a Monday Ruthie a I had it all to ourselves . We just managed to make it back to the car before the weather set in and we decided to head back to Sydney , a great 2 days in the mountains and we have already booked in the diary to head back next month and hike down and camp at acacia flat and stroll around the Blue gum forest .

United Aero

Yesterday i was having a much needed rest day when i got a call from a friend to see if i would be interested in taking some photos of some choppers where she worked and a few aerial shots, What a silly question of cause i would be interested !! All of these choppers are used for fighting bushfires and the 2 on either end are from Canada and come over each year with their crew.I'm sure we all know the amazing job these guys do at stopping fires and saving peoples property. It Was my first time being harnessed in and hanging out of a chopper to take photos, and i rather enjoyed it !

Canola Fields on the road into Gunnedah

A 15 Minute exposure of star trails over Gunnedah.

More Canola Fields on the other side of Gunnedah

The old shearing shed

Recently i went with a mate out to Gunnedah to help with a trade show, I thought it would be a great chance to see if  the canola fields were nice and yellow yet. There was a few fields that were golden yellow but most were still a few weeks off reaching there full potential.
We stayed on a property about 30 mins out of Gunnedah in the old shearing quarters. The rooms consisted of 2 bunk beds and thats about i,. We also had to light the fire to have hot water for our showers of an evening.
The reason we headed to Gunnedah was for Agquip Australia's biggest agriculture field day. It is massive !! 3 days of thousands of people checking out farming equipment. We had a stand set up doing displays driving in fence posts. The little petrol post driver was designed and invented by brothers Peter and Mick Christie and there father Les. Here is a link to the Christie Engineering website and the post driver they invented http://www.christieengineering.com.au/
If you have some fencing to do this will save you !!
